EICR & Consumer Unit Upgrade carried out in Bury St. Edmunds by JDH Electrics. A full & comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Report highlighted over 50+ observations leading to a danger notice being issued and immediate remedial action being recommended. We found several dangerous situations including access to live parts throughout the property where cables had not been terminated into an enclosure or light fitting. The RCD was found to be inoperative, and the earth rod ZS reading was around 300 ohms. At the same time there were several broken ring circuits and loose connections, a consumer unit upgrade was carried out as part of the extensive remedial works. We installed a large Hager RCBO consumer unit, including a Type 2 surge protection device and installed earth bonding to the oil pipe. The works have now been fully certified, and a building control notice made to the local authority.
