Consumer Unit Upgrade & EICR Ashford

EICR in Ashford Kent by JDH Electrics, we found several potentially dangerous faults leading to the upstairs lighting being rewired and a consumer unit upgrade. Now each circuit is protected individually by an RCBO also a Surge Protection Device following the remedial works making the installation safer. The project has been inspected, tested and certified including a building control notification for the new circuit and replacement consumer unit.

This dated fuse board has been modernised with a new consumer unit in Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds. The house is now much safer and RCD protected ready for future electrical works, a surge protection device has also been installed.

The gas pipe had been connected to an earth rod, this created an unsafe situation in the house where there was 2 different earthing potentials. We corrected this by removing the earth rod & installing correct bonding from the gas pipe back to the main earthing terminal of the new consumer unit.

The project has been certified & a building regulations compliance certificate issued.

Following on from an unsatisfactory EICR carried out in Ashford, Kent our team of Electricians carried out remedial works to make the dwelling complaint with property letting legislation. The fuse board was upgraded to include complete RCD protection including a surge protection device.

Whilst there we updated the bathroom down-lights to be LED to save running costs & IP rated for use in a bathroom. Interlinked fire detection has been installed throughout and improvements made to the summer house wiring.

Today our electrician upgraded this consumer unit to a safer, larger solution in Kentford, Newmarket. Each circuit now has individual RCD protection as well as short circuit and overload protection from the RCBO’s. At the same time we added protection from surges and lighting strikes with a built in module. The bonding to the oil has been upgrade and the whole installation tested with a building regulations notification made
